Communities and Parents for Public Schools (CPPS) of Seattle is a network of parents and community members working together to ensure quality public schools for all Seattle children. We are a local chapter affiliated with Parents for Public Schools, a national organization.
Hear from "ordinary" parents who became school board, PTA and community leaders. We'll discuss leadership training and models for all parents to make a difference. We'll talk about what parents want (including results of our Superintendent Survey). And we'll vote in new CPPS board members.

The Seattle School Board is conducting their annual review of the Superintendent. The sessions are closed to the public. Few things are more important to our city than our public schools, so it is important that our public officials have a clear understanding of the public's opinions. Thank you for the strong response!

As parents and community, we are strongest when we all speak up together. Our schools are strongest with parent and community buy-in and support. CPPS is made up of parents from across the city, working to advocate for the issues that matter most to parents. Example of past and current issues include:
• School closure issues
• New Student Assignment Plan and issues (e.g. siblings)
• Performance-blind teacher layoffs
• Sensible bell times
Through community meet-ups, study groups and workshops, CPPS is organizing opportunities to bring parents and community members together to discuss the issues, engage, and advocate for a great public education system in Seattle.
